Three ways Civic Loom supports residents
Each programme is designed for a different starting point — from a single urgent question to a six-week orientation for newcomers settling into the area.
Back to HomeHow every session works
Listen first
Every session opens with an intake conversation to understand your specific situation, what you've already tried, and what outcome you need.
Map a clear path
We identify the relevant service pathway, the documents typically involved, and the sensible sequence to approach things — based on current knowledge of local processes.
Leave with something
Every session produces a tangible output — a printed pathway sheet, an organised folder, or a programme handbook — so you know what to do when you get there.
Public Service Navigation Session
A one-to-one, 60-minute sit-down — in person at our Kelana Jaya centre or by video call — where a support officer walks you through which public counter, portal or programme fits your situation. We map out what documents are usually requested, flag any common pitfalls, and set a realistic picture of how the process typically unfolds for someone in your position.
Suitable for anyone feeling unsure where to start — new residents, families managing an administrative change, or older adults who prefer to talk through a process rather than navigate a portal alone. We provide information and orientation only and never act on your behalf with any agency.
- Printed pathway sheet to take with you
- One follow-up email to answer leftover questions
- Available in person or by video — your choice
- Optional Bahasa Malaysia clarification
How it unfolds
Booking confirmed — you receive a brief intake form to complete before the session.
60-minute session: intake conversation, pathway mapping, document checklist review.
You receive your printed pathway sheet before you leave (or a PDF version after a video session).
Send your follow-up question by email within 14 days — we respond within two working days.
Form & Application Preparation Support
Practical help getting paperwork ready before you submit it yourself. We read through each form together, explain what every field is actually asking for in plain language, check that your supporting copies are complete and clearly labelled, and organise everything into a folder that you can take directly to the relevant counter or portal.
Covers up to three applications per package across a two-week window, with two 45-minute sessions and message support in between. Particularly suited to households handling several different applications at the same time — enrolment, a transfer and a renewal, for instance. You remain the applicant throughout; we support your preparation.
- Up to 3 applications per package
- Two 45-minute sessions across two weeks
- Message support between sessions
- Labelled folder of completed materials
How it unfolds
Intake: share which applications you need to prepare and send any forms or notices you already have.
Session 1: read through forms together, identify what supporting documents are needed, clarify any unclear fields.
Between sessions: gather remaining documents; message support available for questions that come up.
Session 2: final check of all materials; folder assembled and labelled; submission sequence confirmed.
Community Orientation Programme
A six-week small-group programme for newcomers, returning residents and community volunteers who want a rounded understanding of how everyday services work — from local council contact points and public transport passes to school enrolment steps and community groups in the area. Groups are capped at ten participants so everyone can raise their specific questions in the room.
The programme includes weekly two-hour sessions, a printed neighbourhood handbook, a guided visit to a nearby service centre, and a group chat that stays open for three months after the programme ends. Delivered in plain English with optional Bahasa Malaysia clarifications woven in throughout.
- Six weekly 2-hour sessions (max 10 participants)
- Printed neighbourhood handbook
- Guided visit to a local service centre
- Group chat open for 3 months post-programme
Six-week outline
Local council services, resident responsibilities, and where to find information.
Public transport: routes, passes, top-up points, and journey planning in Klang Valley.
School enrolment and educational pathways for families with children.
Community groups, volunteer networks, and local notice boards in the area.
Guided visit to a nearby service centre — in person, with a facilitator.
Review session: individual questions, handbook walkthrough, group chat setup.
